Erasmus+ Programme

The Erasmus+ Programme is the new initiative that replaced the Lifelong Learning and Youth Programmes implemented by the European Union in the field of education and youth between 2007 and 2013. Although primarily project-based, it also includes individual mobility activities.

The Erasmus+ Higher Education Programme is an EU initiative that encourages cooperation between higher education institutions and the business world. It provides non-refundable financial support for the implementation of joint projects and short-term student and staff exchanges between higher education institutions. It also promotes stronger ties and cooperation between universities and the professional sector to enhance the employability of graduates and align the higher education system with the needs of the labor market.

The main goal of the programme is to improve the quality of higher education in Europe. This is achieved by fostering international cooperation between institutions, promoting mobility among students and staff within Europe, and supporting academic recognition and transparency of qualifications across participating countries.

In addition, graduates from a higher-quality European education system will be more equipped and better aligned with industry expectations. Erasmus+ also aims to break down stereotypes among European societies through academic exchange.
